How to best communicate your plan during challenging situations

Designing and creating for others can be very challenging if you don’t have a fundamental understanding of certain methodologies such as account-based or consultative management.

In one specific marketing case, my client’s time with me was incredibly limited and therefore I needed to adapt my approach. Where I may have previously only presented a lengthy written plan, I had to ‘think outside the box’ in this situation. I created an infographic that depicted my intended brand awareness campaign plan, in conjunction with the text, to summarise with style.

This method helped me to keep their attention for the short amount of time I was allotted and gain their immediate approval. They not only saved time and money on endless read but they were grateful for the ability to have a quick reference guide.

By changing your perspective and analysing the client’s general situation, perhaps using the account-based method, you can adapt and overcome those challenges with basic creativity and impressing those who can’t be ‘wowed’.
